Export your email archive

Start with the right file. The converter accepts MBOX, MBX, and EML email files.

Gmail and Google Takeout

1. Open Google Takeout. Deselect services you do not need and select Mail.
2. Choose the mail data to include, then continue to the export settings. Request a one-time ZIP export.
3. When Google makes the export available, download and extract the ZIP. Find the .mbox files inside the Mail folder.
4. Return to the converter and choose those MBOX files. Choose your columns and convert.

Google controls export availability and delivery. Work or school accounts may have different permissions. See Google's export instructions.

Apple Mail on Mac

Select one or more mailboxes in Mail, then choose Mailbox → Export Mailbox and select a destination. Mail exports MBOX-format mailboxes.

If the export is a folder or package ending in .mbox, select the actual mailbox file inside, often named mbox. The converter accepts that filename too. See Apple's mailbox export guide.

Thunderbird

The ImportExportTools NG add-on supports MBOX and EML exports. Export a folder as MBOX, or export individual messages as EML, then choose those files in the converter.

Outlook and other formats

This version does not read PST, OST, MSG, ZIP, or TGZ files directly. For Outlook backups, obtain an MBOX or EML version first. For ZIP or TGZ downloads, extract the archive before selecting email files.

Choose the output you need

The default CSV keeps the date, sender, recipients, subject, Message ID, and readable body text. In Pro, add Gmail thread IDs when present, or enable the attachment manifest for a separate list of filenames and sizes. Files are processed on your device.

For large archives, the Pro edition offers large-file mode in supported desktop browsers under More export options. This writes the main CSV directly to your chosen file. Free supports CSV downloads. Pro adds ZIP bundles, contact exports, and mailbox summaries.
