Are my emails uploaded anywhere?
No. The converter reads files on your device and builds the output in your browser. Email contents are not sent to our server or an AI service.
Which files can I convert?
Standard MBOX and MBX email archives, plus individual EML messages. Extract ZIP or TGZ backups first. PST, OST, and MSG files require a separate conversion to MBOX or EML.
Can I convert a large archive?
Free accepts one source file up to 1 GB per conversion. Pro accepts up to 200 files totaling 20 GB. Input is read in chunks. Standard mode caps main CSV output at 256 MB; Pro attachment manifests are limited to 64 MB. Pro large-file mode in supported desktop browsers writes the main CSV directly to disk. Available memory, storage, and browser support still matter. Individual messages are limited to 64 MB. Keep the tab open until conversion finishes.
What happens to attachments and HTML emails?
The Pro attachment manifest lists filenames, MIME types, and decoded sizes. Attachment files are not extracted. Plain text is preferred for message bodies; HTML-only messages are converted to text without executing their content. Each body is limited to 32,000 characters, and the result reports truncation or unreadable messages.
Will the CSV open correctly in Excel?
Exports use UTF-8 with an optional byte order mark for Excel. Quoting preserves commas, quotation marks, and line breaks. Spreadsheet formula protection is enabled by default. You can also choose a semicolon or tab separator.
Is there a charge or an account to create?
The Free edition has no conversion payment step. Pro is designed for a monthly subscription and is currently a private preview; subscriptions are not on sale. Access to these hosted previews follows the site owner's sharing settings.
